WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The sale of a fake hand grenade ends with one man being shot, according to court documents.
The incident allegedly happened on June 18 at a trailer on W. Jefferson Avenue in West Terre Haute.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a man went to the trailer to sell 40-year-old Colt Cooley a fake hand grenade.
During the conversation, Cooley allegedly became upset about a previous drug deal. That’s when court documents say Cooley took out a handgun and shot the man in the arm.
Cooley was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated battery and criminal recklessness.
He’s in the Vigo County Jail on $75,000 bond and has a court appearance scheduled for July 25.
