WABASH VALLEY – (WTWO/WAWV) — A variety of activities are planned throughout the Valley in celebration of Independence Day.
Parades, food, live music and, of course, fireworks will be held throughout the 4th of July weekend in many communities.
Washington, Ind. Fourth of July Festival
Washington’s Fourth of July Festival is planned for Tuesday through Thursday at the East Side Park.
Carnival rides, music and local food vendors will be available.
8th annual 4th of July Celebration at The Bridge
The 8th annual 4th of July Celebration at The Bridge Church in Terre Haute will be held Thursday with live music, face painting, corn hole and more.
A hot dog eating contest will be held with prizes to be awarded.
The event will conclude with a fireworks display.
Terre Haute Parks and Recreation fireworks display
The annual Terre Haute Parks and Recreation fireworks display will be held at dusk Thursday at Fairbanks Park.
Coles County fireworks display
The annual Coles County, Ill. fireworks display will be held at the Coles County Memorial Airport between Charleston and Mattoon.
Gates will open at 4 pm. CT.
Free shuttles will be provided from Mattoon Cross County Mall and Charleston/EIU O’Brien Stadium beginning at 5 p.m.
Food vendors and inflatables will be on site.
Fireworks will start at dark.
Rubber Duck Regatta
A Rubber Duck Regatta will be held at 7 p.m. at Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute Thursday.
A total of 12,000 yellow rubber ducks will be released into the Wabash River for a race to the finish line. One lucky person will receive $10,000 and a chance to win $1 million.

July 4th in Paris
Fourth of July activities in Paris, Ill. will begin Thursday with a fish fry from from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT at the American Legion Post 211.
Fishback will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park.
The festivities will continue on Saturday with a City Bank concert from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by the 71 Band at 7 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at dusk.
Linton Freedom Festival
The Linton Freedom Festival will be held through July 6 including a carnival, food and music.
Thursday’s lineup includes a parade at 10 a.m. and a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m.
Independence Day activities in Casey
Independence Day activities will begin Wednesday in Casey, Ill. with music at Fairview Park at 7 p.m .
On Thursday, festivities will continue with the Clark County Shriner’s parade to be held at 10 a.m. in downtown Casey.
Several events are planned throughout the day Thursday including a fish fry, concessions and inflatables for children.
A fireworks display will begin at dusk.
84th annual Rotary Club 4th of July Celebration
The 84th annual Rotary Club 4th of July Celebration will be held at Forest Park in Brazil, Ind. Thursday.
Rides will be set up and several food booths will be available.
The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
4th of July in Marshall, Ill.
Fourth of July activities in Marshall, Ill. will include a band concert at 8 p.m. Thursday followed by fireworks at the fairgrounds at dusk.
