Who eats canned spinach? Is that a thing? So you’re in the store, and you suddenly realize you need spinach (Does this happen?) You’ve got two choices. You can go to the PRODUCES aisle where they have fresh, yummy (??) spinach, or you can go to the aisle where months ago in a factory far, far, away….they took fresh spinach and put it in cans! Mmmmmm.
Anyway, a Pennsylvania woman decided canned spinach was what she needed. She found a
dead bird
in her can of Del Monte spinach. The company offered her $10 bucks to drop it. Yup. $10.

I think the starting amount if you’d like someone to drop that they found a dead animal in your food product should be $5 thousand. I think if they’d had started at $5K, we probably wouldn’t know that a Pennsylvania woman found a dead bird in her can of Del Monte spinach. It would have saved the company embarrassment for having dead birds in their cans. and the woman embarrassment of buying canned spinach.
By the way, the FDA says this sort of thing rarely happens.
