PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One person is dead and another facing charges after a wreck in Parke County.
The wreck happened on Friday at Bridgeton Road near Jeffries Ford Road.
When deputies arrived, they found 31-year-old Jacque McCullough of Terre Haute unresponsive next to the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver, identified as her boyfriend 30-year-old Michael Thacker of Terre Haute, had fled the scene. Police believe he failed to handle a curve in the roadway, striking a tree.
Thacker was later located at a residence in Vigo County.
He was transported to the Parke County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, resulting in death.
His bond is set at $15,000.
