TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local organization is getting ready to paint the town pink.
The Wabash Valley Breast Cancer Survivor Organization spent Thursday fluffing pink carnations.
They’re making them into bouquets for the annual Paint the Town Pink carnation sale.
Proceeds help pay for a bunch of resources for breast cancer patients.
It also helps pay for mammograms for women who are uninsured or under-insured.
“A lot of us were not diagnosed early and we want women who do not have insurance to get a mammogram and to maybe be diagnosed at an early stage, where maybe it will only be a lumpectomy versus a masectomy. Maybe no chemo, maybe no radiation. We know what it’s like to go through all of it,” says volunteer director Coral Cochran.
The Paint the Town Pink carnation sale is on Friday, May 10.
