VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — By dedicating an additional $100,000 to the Share the Light program, Duke Energy will continue to help support those in the area that are in need of financial support.
With Duke providing more than 3 million dollars in assistance over the last five years, the funding goes to individuals or families in need of assistance with the costs of their electric bills.
“The summer months can mean high temperatures and energy use,” said Stan Pinegar, president of Duke Energy Indiana. “The financial assistance we offer through the Share the Light Fund helps connect customers in need to resources to help pay their electric bills as they use more power to cool their homes.”
For eligible customers, an annual credit of up to $300 can be added to their account. For information on eligibility requirements, visit the Indiana Community Action Association website.
Duke offers many resources and programs to help customers manage the costs of their bills including Budget Billing, usage alerts, and free home energy assessments. To learn more about these programs, visit the Duke Energy Here to Help page.
The Duke Energy Foundation works to provide support for the customers in the area in many ways even outside of electric bill payment relief. The Vincennes Food Pantry recently received $3,000 from Duke to help support those in the area who are struggling with food insecurity.
